Wheel alignment in South Winnipeg
An alignment sets the angles of the wheels back to the manufacturer’s specification, so the car tracks straight and the tires wear evenly.

Signs it is time. What a driver actually notices.
General guideThe car drifts or pulls on a straight, flat road
The steering wheel is off-centre when you drive straight
Tires wearing unevenly or faster than expected
You hit a deep pothole or a curb
New tires or new suspension parts have just been fitted
What an alignment usually involves.
What your vehicle needs depends on its make, age and condition.
- Tire pressure and tire condition first
- A check of steering and suspension parts: worn parts will not hold an alignment
- Measuring camber, caster and toe against the manufacturer’s specification
- Adjusting the angles that can be adjusted on your vehicle
- Centring the steering wheel

Questions people ask.
General guideIs alignment the same as wheel balancing?
No. Balancing corrects a wheel and tire that are heavier on one side, which shows up as a vibration at speed. Alignment sets the angles at which the wheels meet the road.
Can a pothole really knock the alignment out?
Yes. A hard hit can shift an adjustment or bend a part. If the car pulls or the steering wheel sits crooked afterwards, have it measured.
Should I get an alignment with new tires?
It is a sensible time to have it checked: new tires on a car that is out of alignment will wear unevenly.
What if the angles cannot be brought back into specification?
That usually points to a worn or bent part, which has to be dealt with before the alignment can be set.
